The San Marino and Rimini Riviera motorcycle Grand Prix is a motorcycling event that is part of the FIM Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. The name of the race is a misnomer as the race has always taken place in Italy, but because there is already an Italian motorcycle Grand Prix, it was called the San Marino Grand Prix because of the track location's proximity to San Marino. The event is due to take place at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli until at least 2026.
Marc Marquez won the 2026 San Marino Grand Prix at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, completing a perfect weekend sweep after also winning the Saturday Sprint race. This victory propelled the reigning champion into the MotoGP World Championship lead for the first time this season.
The 27-lap race shook up immediately when polesitter and home-crowd favourite Marco Bezzecchi crashed out from the lead on the opening lap.
Following Bezzecchi's error, Aprilia's Jorge Martin took over the lead, initially pulling away while facing pressure from behind. On lap 7, Marc Marquez executed a decisive overtake on Martin to reclaim the top spot. Despite persistent tracking from both Martin and a brilliant charging display by his brother, Alex Marquez, Marc held firm to cross the line first.
