Hot Take: NBA Fans Need to Stop Overreacting to the First 5 Games 🏀
Every year, we see the same thing. A team starts 3-0 and suddenly they're championship contenders. Another starts 1-3 and people want the coach fired. The first 10 games tell you very little about how good a team actually is. (same with the NFL in the first 4 games its a 17 game season!) I'd rather watch defensive effort, rotations, and whether teams can win without their stars having huge nights. Let's not make any serious championship predictions until at least 20 games into the season. Which NBA team is getting way too much hype right now, and which team is being unfairly written off?
Minnesota is 6-0, yet Detroit is favored by 3 points this weekend. I actually understand the line. Being undefeated doesn't automatically make you the best team in football, especially going on the road against a division rival. I think Detroit hands Minnesota its first loss. But if the Vikings pull this off, it's time to start treating them as legitimate Super Bowl favorites.
